How To Setup Hotmail POP3: http://mobiletech.knguyentu.com/2009/11/motorola-droid-setting-up-hotmail-pop3.html
In a few simple steps, you should be able to setup Yahoo IMAP service on your new Motorola Droid phone. You do not need to have Yahoo Plus Mail, the paid service of Yahoo Mail. This method works perfectly fine with the free Yahoo Mail.
Caution: Before Proceeding, ensure that WIFI is turned OFF. This only works via Verizon 3G Signal.
- Go to Mail icon. If this is the first time you've setup any mail service on the Motorola Droid, you will be prompt to enter in a username and password. Enter in your Yahoo email address and password
- Click on the Manual Setup at the bottom left corner
- In the incoming server setting, entering as followed
username: xxx@yahoo.com (enter in your complete yahoo email address)
password: enter in your yahoo password account
IMAP Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 143
Security Type: None
IMAP Path Prefix: leave blank / Optional
- Press next to continue with SMTP Server. Once on that screen, enter in these settings

SMTP: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 587
Security Type: None
Check "required Sign-In"
Username: xxx@yahoo.com
Password: your email password
- Now click through next and fill out the name, etc. You are done. You now have IMAP setup on your new Motorola Droid for your Yahoo Mail Account!

I have a Free Yahoo account and I followed the instructions listed and it worked for about 1 day then it stopped and said reenter username and password. I did but it would not take them. I turned by WIFI on then off again (just tring things) then shutoff the phone and it started working but stopped less than a day after. Now it just keeps stating "connection error" and will not connect....As I stated I already have the configuration suggested but it stopped working. Is anyone else having issues after it was working?
I can't get mine to work at all . Any help?
Today is my first day after setting stated above... its working so far... x
THIS IS WRONG
FOR YAHOO EMAIL WITH XX @ "USERNAME".COM
This (and every other blog, user forum, support site) is wrong. Follow the original post instructions except for SMTP set up, After
checking "Require sign-in," enter JUST your Username - do NOT enter username@yahoo.com
