On the new Motorola Droid, like many devices, tethering might not be a standard functionality provided by the phone. It is either disabled by the wireless provider or not even offered. June Fabric Technology found a nitch in the market for this and released a software you install on your PC to solve this problem. Depending on the wireless devices, it will push a small application to your phone that it uses for connection.
Warning: You need to read your your terms agreement with your wireless provider prior using this method. Some provider forbid the usage of tethering, while other charges a service feed for this.
After you download all of the required software above, you can start first with installing the PDANet software from June Fabrics. It will install the USB driver for you, if it doesn't, you can use the USB driver above to install.
Once you install, to launch the tethering, make sure you have USB Debugging still enable. Connect your phone to the USB connection and on your phone launch the PDANet software. Click on "Turn PdaNet On". Once it is turn on, you can then go to your PC and "Connect" on the PDANet software on your taskbar. It is that simple! I am amazed this is soo fast!!
