Motorola Droid - Dock Mode without THE Dock

More Droid Help: http://mobiletech.knguyentu.com/2009/11/motorola-droid-day-one-beast-is-among.html#more

The Motorola Droid has a really cool neat feature when you use the Motorola Multimedia Docking Station, using the special magnetic on the back of the base, it forces the Droid to go into what is called "Dock Mode". During the "Dock Mode", you have a few pretty neat features. It will display the time and weather. You could have it do a rotating slide show or even a music player.

Thanks to Stigy over at droidforums.net (http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-applications/1709-dockrunner-droid.html), he came across a pretty cool apps off the Android Market which forces the "Dock Mode" without the need of purchasing the actual station.

The application is called "DockRunner". You can search for it in Android's Market and it is a fairly simple process to use. Once installed, select "DockRunner" once will put it in "Dock Mode", select it again to place it back to normal mode.

While you are in "Dock Mode", play around and get used to all of the buttons. The one with the light bulb activates nite mode, that dim the screen and change the contrast. All of the features are pretty neat!

To be clear, there are two type of modes. One called the Dock Mode for Multimedia Docking Station and the other is called "Car Mode" to be used as a car navigation system. The software only does one at the moment.

It is that simple!

Sweet, thanks for the tip.

btw, the location of your ads make it difficult to post comments. After adding my comment, I had to hit tab to get to the image verification, and tab again to get to submit. The ads cover up the image verification and submit buttons!
